The performance of the sealant is instantaneous, so the driver probably will not come to realize that he has punctured.
When inspecting the tires, if the causing of the puncture (nail, screw, etc ...) is stuck in it, the object can be removed immediately proceeded to turn the tire so that the sealing action is effective.
